A U.S. cruise missile was fired into Somalia Sunday, killing four civilians.

According to AFP, at least one cruise missile was fired by the U.S. military on Sunday into southern Somalia near the Kenyan border, targeting an Al-Qaeda leader believed to be hiding there, a U.S. military official said Monday. Four civilians were killed in the town, which is home to thousands of refugees who fled clashes in Mogadishu. This is the third U.S. attack on Somalia since early 2007.

The behavior of the U.S. government towards Africans in Somalia has afflicted the East African nation, whose citizens continue to die of hunger, drought, poverty and diseases. It is therefore pertinent to say that U.S. policy on Somalia is not only synonymous with Hitler's Nazi activities during the Second World War but shows also a depiction of the policies of "race purification" whereby the U.S. and its pawns are bent on destroying Black people on the planet.

Somalia is a country caught up in civil war for decades due to the corrupt, dictatorial and imperialist regime of Siad Barri. When this regime was toppled and thrown to the dustbin of history, the Union of Islamic Courts gained control of Mogadishu and much of South-Central Somalia and restored a semblance of law and order after defeating notorious warlords, widely believed to be financed by U.S. clandestine services.

Thus, less than 24 hours after the naked aggression on Ecuador by Colombian and U.S.-backed military, comes today more U.S. military terrorism against Somalia and we do not know who will be next after that under the Bush doctrine of regime change. The truth is that U.S. military terrorism of Somalia constitutes a serious violation of important principles of international, humanitarian and human rights laws.

In the 17 years since the overthrow of the Siad Barri enclave, scarcely any unequivocal outrage and robust action has been taken by the individuals and organizations that traditionally are in the vanguard of raising and mobilizing public awareness about egregious violations of human rights and principles of the United Nations. After all, where is the international law that allows Ethiopia to invade Somalia?

While we condemn the criminal military terrorism of Somalia and its people, we demand that all African countries and the African Union assume their responsibility for stopping any further U.S. aggression on the continent, let alone more military terrorism of Somalia, which is a sovereign member of the African Union and the human family.

This latest U.S. military terrorism of Somalia has achieved only one goal: to kill and maim more civilians, destroy property belonging to the African people, and reverse further any prospect for peace and reconciliation in the country. It is time we Africans struggle together to say "No more imperialism."
From Somalia and Zimbabwe to Eritrea and the Sudan, we must condemn the interference of U.S. led Western imperialism in Africa. It is our belief that Somalis, if left alone, can live together and solve their own problems within the framework of a peaceful negotiation between them, without resorting to assistance or loyalty to any foreign power that wants to dominate and control African nations, Black peoples and their destinies. Somalia must live!
